Surgery Center Guidelines
Art pieces displayed in the lobby of the Conway Ambulatory Surgery Center are
seen by many people, both visitors and employees of the facility. At this time exhibits
are for 2 months, during which the artist, if so choosing may change out the show,
putting up a different exhibit for each month. There is no place for 3D work and
nothing can rest on the floor, nor can display tables or stands be brought in. All
exhibitors at the Surgery Center must be members of Conway League of Artists whose
dues are paid up to date. A sign up sheet will be available at all CLA meetings.
Only family friendly work will be displayed, no nudity, sex or violence and
nothing that could cause physical harm to the patrons. Art must be hung on the
hangers they provide for this purpose and the hangers are not to be moved except for
adjusting the height. Make sure the wire on your art is hooked over the hanger so it
won’t slip off. All art must be framed unless gallery wrapped canvas is used and screw
eyes or D-rings and strong wire must be used for hanging. The five exhibit spaces will
accommodate large work, but very heavy pieces or frames should be avoided.
No commission is charged on sales, nor does the Surgery Center handle sales.
Interested patrons will contact and make arrangements directly with the artist.
Identification cards should also be placed on the back and front of each piece, with
title, medium, your name, phone number and selling price. A short bio may be
attached to the wall near your exhibit using putty type poster adhesive, which can also
be used to attach cards. You may take photos, write a news release for the paper and
do your own publicity for this show if you choose to. Remove the putty when you take
your show down.
Lobby hours are from 8 am to 4:30 pm and we can hang any time the lobby is open.
Security locks the outside doors about 11:30 pm. reopening them about 5:00 am, so
there is some time when no one is working in the lobby. They don’t provide security for
our artwork, nor do they sign anything stating that we have placed artwork in their
facility. Call Virginia Potter at 501 470–8369 if you have questions as the staff of the
Surgery Center won’t be able to help you.
The 5 pieces of art are to be displayed in the hallway to the left as we enter the
lobby. These can be paintings, drawings, photography and graphic art. These should
be high quality, attractively framed and displayed as might be presented in any
professional art gallery.
Neither the Conway League of Artists, its officers or members nor the Conway
Regional Ambulatory Surgery Center nor any of their employees or clients are
responsible for any damage to or loss of your art. By hanging your work in the
Surgery Center you are agreeing to these guidelines established by the Conway League
